I have a beautiful sleigh bed with leather inserts. My poor bed has lived in the garage for three years because of space restrictions. It is now time to bring my bed out of hiding and into my new home, and therefore, it needs some serious leather cleaning. Cleaning leather can restore leather right back to its’ original state! So, my son plays golf on the high school golf team, since he already has all of the fancy schmancy golf clubs that he needs, I thought that I would surprise him with some golf balls with logo, on it. Interestingly enough, I have begun to enjoy watching my son play golf on the high school golf team. In the beginning of the season, it really was a bit like watching paint dry, but as the season continued, the kids really got into the swing of things, no pun intended, and really started playing golf!

One thing that I learned along the way was that these kids certainly do go through their fair share of golf balls. It also surprises me that they all seem to use premium golf balls; you know the kind…the ones that really fly. Unfortunately they often fly right into the water! The kids really never take a lot of time on golf ball retrieval, but I must say that I have been able to retrieve about a half a dozen myself.

It seems as though the brighter, yellow balls are the ones that I am able to find, but the kids seem to think that they are “not cool.” Since they have been playing golf in Palm Springs, California, I am really glad that the season is over, because it is just too hot to be standing out in the sun. The kids won their conference and will be in the play-offs shortly. I think that gold is a great sport and really helps the kids develop important life skills.

A really close friend of mine recently moved to Louisville, Kentucky. She absolutely love living there and is trying her darn-dest to get me to move there, so that we can be neighbors again! She told me that there were many homes for sale Louisville Ky and that she was certain that I would find one that I would like.

I must say that the pictures that she has been sending me of her new home really are enticing. I currently have plans to move to Boise, Idaho, but who knows? Maybe a trip to Kentucky is just what the doctor ordered!

Today, as I was getting ready to write my WEGO Health Blog entry;  “What Super Power Would You Like to Possess?”,  my desk chair suddenly became lopsided. I looked down and lo and behold, the caster on one of the legs of my chair was rolling across the floor. So, instead of writing my blog post, I started looking for furniture casters online.

Luckily, I found Reid Supply and ordered caster for my chair; they will be here in two days. Don’t you just love the internet?

When we moved into our new apartment we thought everything was going to be great. We were excited for a fresh startsince out old apartment was so bad. We liked the new area we were moving to and we set everything up just the way we liked it. I don’t know the exact point things started to go wrong, but they did. First our internet.clear went out of service when my husband was working on a really important document he had to send out to his boss. He couldn’t send it out at home, so he had to go back to work late at night to give it to his boss, who was not happy that it was late. Then, out power went out the next night. After that, we noticed that the water in the shower didn’t get hot enough for us, and the dishwasher didn’t get the dishes clean. I hope the management company takes care of all this stuff before we lose our minds! It wouldn’t be a big deal if it was just one of these things, but all of them together are annoying.

So, my eighteen year old son has joined the high school golf team. He did not join because he has a passion for golf, although he is very, very good, he joined because he needed a physical education credit to graduate. I really wish that he had played for the past two years, but since this was not the case, he needed his own set of golf clubs; not a loaner set from the club house.

Now allow me to preface this story with the fact that he father was the state champion golfer in college, and they live in a golf mecca; the Palm Springs area. So, with a ton of natural talent and not a whole lot of practice, my son was next to tee off. He had two golf drivers and I was curious to see which one he would choose; he chose the old driver, stating the fact that the “Big Daddy” was way too hard to control. He hit the ball long and far; straight down the fairway. We were off to a good start. As we approached the green, I notice all of the different type golf putters that the kids were using. I found the one with the extra-long shaft to be the most interesting. My son actually managed to pull off a bogey and was pretty relieved.

The rest of the day was filled with ups and downs, but their team did manage to prevail. I must say that watching gold is a bit like watching paint dry!

With summertime quickly approaching, it is time to put away the winter wear and bring out our summer wear. I don’t know about you, but I can barely pass up a summer without buying a new sun hat. Sometimes I go to my office on the weekend to catch up on projects or filing or some of those mundane things that I can’t seem to get to during the week. My office is in the middle of a busy downtown area and while one would think that the busyness of the streets and buildings would make it safe to come and go any time of the day, I feel safe knowing that my office is being monitored by ADT Security Systems . It is not in a high rise office building where there are twenty-four hour human guards backing up the security system. It is a small, though very chic, two-story space that sits between a landmark deli and another office building. “I had ten brothers and four sisters, count me that makes fifteen children, same mother and father. {Mama and Pa}. Welcome to hard times and hard work!! BUT– WE ALL danced–when my brothers were here [in my heart they still live]–I never wanted for a dance partner as there were six or seven of them at every dance I got to go to. That is how I learned to dance, in every way, as they did not all dance the same but they did all lead–WOW!! Imagine that!!

I am the fourteenth child , my dads favorite, oh yes, they both had them and were not shy about saying it—-I think, when I was born my dad thought it was the second coming and he never changed his mind. Needless to say, he was the love of my life too. We lived in a two story small house—no running water when I was a small child, a pump in the back yard– finally had cold running water in the kitchen with a bucket under the faucet–a pot bellied stove in the living room–a coal cook stove in the kitchen–cornbread out of that oven was to die for. Mamas fried chicken too!!

Now–tell me about a recession. Hey, who’s afraid of the big bad wolf? Fifteen children in this set of conditions and never complained!! Mama never called a child a kid–and would not let us kids are goats.

Everyone needs to know, that no matter what they decide to do with their time here, they will forever be grateful for having learned how to dance. Sooner or later it will pay great dividends and put joy into life, when times are hard. NOT TO MENTION A GUY WILL HAVE ALL THE GIRLFRIENDS HE CAN HANDLE AND THEN SOME–wow!!HEY GUYS–DANCING IS NOT JUST AN EXERCISE, BUT LEARNING ABOUT PEOPLE AND LIFE AND MANNERS. Not to mention the friends one receives from going dancing–{no strings attached} unlike some fields of entertainment.

So–do it and have fun swinging. Yea for you!!”
