Exploring Under the Sea!

Scuba diving is an amazing sport. Of course, I am speaking as a leisure diver that likes to fall off the back of the boat, in a wetsuit, in the Caribbean, and float with the current along the coral reefs. Once I reach the end of the reef, I want to surface and to be picked up, immediately by the boat.

I know that this sounds a bit demanding, but even wearing wetsuits does not keep me warm in the Caribbean. I am such a baby when it comes to being cold, that if I get even the slightest bit chilled, my teeth start to chattered, and then my whole body starts to shudder. I truly believe that I have a broken, internal thermostat that allows me about a four degree temperature change in either direction.  If you are wondering from what point my internal temperature starts, it seems to be right around 78 degrees. Talk about a baby!

Anyway, once I have a wetsuit on, I am good for about forty five minutes under water, in the Caribbean at about thirty to forty feet. I almost always run out of reef before I run out of air. In the Pacific Ocean, it is a different story; I can only last about twenty minutes, and yes, that is with a wetsuit on. I really hate when the cold water begins to seep in, it always takes a bit out of me, having to utilize my body heat to warm that water. All in all, I guess that I shall just stick with diving in the warmest water that I can find.
