Cruising on Halloween!
It seems that the only souvenir I brought home from my Halloween Cruise, was laryngitis and bronchitis. I guess that sneaky little sucker “Murphy” managed to find his way on board without me seeing him. The real question is, “Was worth it”? Heck, yeah! A little Robitussen, and the fact that we went to Mexico and were able to buy “drugs”, (antibiotics and inhalers) kept me dancing until the wee hours.
The ship would not have been the same without Bat Girl and Robin to ward off the villians and ghouls of the night…………..we even managed to add Wonder Woman, the Scarecrow and Minnie Mouse to our pack!
The weather was lousy, the sea was rough, but a great time was had by all. We visited the ports of Belize, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Roatan, Honduras. I would say that Roatan was my favorite! It is an absolutely gorgeous island. I visited there twice this summer and am look forward to going again. The rain forest and snorkeling are phenomenal. Belize had to be my second fave. The zip line tour is a MUST!
As usual, however, there was very little “couples” dancing. Fortunately, my friend Jordan, was also on the cruise, so I was able to get in a few West Coast Swing dances. There were also a few Cha Cha and Two Step’s here and there. I have decided that I may just have to start learning the leaders’ part, as well as the followers’, so that I will be able to lead Ras #2 around the dance floor when a great song comes on!
Another remedy to this problem will be our own Dance Cruise. Stay tuned for details…………we hope everyone will join us!
Off, to let the night time “powers of healing” work on my “cruise crud”!!
Just copy below code and paste it on your blog.

I really didn’t know you were sick and wondered. What state are you in? I originally signed up to get my husband to dance at our last daughters wedding also paid for three lessons at home — it worked it was fun. We are getting ready for a move on Dec. 28th to Charleston, SC area. Due to being retired I hope to find locations that give the free dance sessions - we actually will be on John’s Island, SC, if you have any info as to getting him dancing again once settled I’d love to know. I have had MS for 34yrs and retired after 32yrs at the Dept of Justice, due to changes with MS cognitive/memory frustrates me since I could always be the one to remember - just is another layer to dancing. Take Care

Hi Sharon,
I am actually in Boise, Idaho. I’ve been here for a little over two years. It is a great place. I used to spend summers in Myrtle beach when I was a kid. I hope you will like it there. Moving right after Christmas…yuk!
You will have to let me know when you get settled, so that I can help you locate some dancing in your new area. What you will find is that if you do the same steps over and over and I mean, OVER and OVER, you body will remember them and you won’t have to rely on your brain! I really had the same problem in the beginning. Try not to get frustrated and just practice a step or two right in the kitchen! Might even inspire “huuby”!
Regards,
Michele

I hope by the time you get this e-mail of mine you are back to your being vibrant if not very close to it.You are welcome. I just love Halloween. I wish I could be at two places at one time. Two Halloween parties I missed this year-the one at Colorado Cafe-this is country but the biggest one and Battista- a very huge and classy ballroom dance place, where you can see lots of great dancers. I was McCain and Panthom of the Opera. Last year I was Governor Swars.. of California-you who I mean. Maybe you jcan join me next yearwith my Halloween gallivanting. So you were Bat Woman, right? I was Batman two years ago. I suggest you come and see the New York Greenwich Village Halloween parade next year. It is the biggest, the wackiest, creepiest and ghouliest of them all! Good night and sweet dreams!

Well, I’m still hacking, but feeling better. Nothing like cruise crud!
I hope you don’t mind, I posted your email on my Blog ( http://www.Ras-This.com ) , so that other can see all of the great dances available in New York! I LOVE Manhattan. Haven’t been there in a few years, but used to go quite often. Once upon a time, a long time ago, I lived in Brooklyn. And yes, Mr. Terminator, I also lived in Ca.!
I’m thinking that next year, I may just have to hit NY for Halloween!
And yes, I was Bat “Girl” Ras#2 aka Cindy was Robin

I see you failed to mention my great 2-step lead during the Karoke party! I actually had one pretty good night of dancing (think Ras #1 was in the disco) with a guy originally from Poland (whoda thunk?). He graduated from college in Wyoming (double whoda thunk) and hadn’t dance since then. Picked it back up pretty well, though. Think he spent most of the rest of the cruise suffering from sea sickness….or I scared him off…..and after I helped him and his friend discover the beauty and thriftiness of buying booze at one of our stops! Boy oh boy am I looking forward to going on a dance cruise!

Hahaha! Yes, I did forget you’re terrific 2-step lead, the one where we kept changing back and forth, between lead and follow!
And doesn’t it just figure that Mr. Two Stepper (aka Poland) would spend the entire trip sea sick?? I really don’t think you scared THAT one off, although that does often seem to be the case with us, doesn’t it?
We have SO MANY tricks and tips of the trade to share before everyone joins us on our dance cruise……………….
Stay tuned!
